I'm delighted it's Friday, not like most of the country at the prospect of a couple of days off, but because we get to do what we love doing - co-ordinate another wedding tomorrow! Richard & Penny, have a wonderful day and don't worry about a single thing except enjoying yourselves - we've got everything else under control.

As well as finalising a few details for this weekend's wedding, I've also been preparing for more 'On The Day Co-ordination' bookings over the next few weeks. I love talking to suppliers, confirming details including delivery times and places, and most of all ensuring that the vision the bride and groom have of their day is clear in the minds of everyone involved in making it happen.

It's this communication that takes place with suppliers in the final weeks before the wedding that is absolutely crucial - and you'd be surprised at how much time and dedication is needed to to keep everything on track. No matter how well briefed a florist or venue has been, the fact that staff often move around and other weddings are being catered for means you can never take anything for granted. Asking Magic Dust to do it takes away all the stress from the bride and groom - minor problems that could cause a couple sleepless nights at this stage are swiftly dealt with by us and need never worry them - it's so rewarding to know that the work we do really does help people.

I've said before how important it is to find your venue before you spend too much time and energy on the details of your reception and how you mustn't panic if it takes longer to find your venue than you expected. This week I have been working with a couple for whom this is particularly true. Over the past few months they have looked at so many venues that I know they were beginning to think they'd never find anywhere they both loved. But they have, and it has the most beautifully ornate ceilings, detail from which they are going to use as a pattern on their wedding stationery - that's what I call 'effortless inspiration' and it proves the point. They would never have come up with this idea before they saw the venue and those ceilings and yet it was the easiest decision to make once they had.
