A question to ask your venue, a great idea for table decorations & another supplier for you to check out

"How many staff will be working the bar during the reception?"
There is nothing worse than seeing your guests queuing at a bar that's understaffed instead of filling your dance floor but it can be avoided. Ask the right questions and let your venue know that you expect spectacular service and won't accept anything less.
Please don't be afraid to ask these types of questions as they can avoid all sorts of stressful situations on your wedding day and ensure that your venue treat you with the respect and attention you deserve - and have paid for. By the way, 2 surly bartenders for 175 guests is nowhere near acceptable...!
I'm a big fan of helping couples create a personalised, simple and stylish look for their wedding celebration. This doesn't mean throwing money at the problem, in fact using your personalities rather than your bank balance to personalise your wedding day is definitely the way forward!
So, here's an idea for table centrepieces that will look stunning, a little bit different and can double up as presents for guests to take home if you like. Take a potted miniature rose (you can buy these for less than £2 each at garden centres or from local growers) and 4 smaller pots of different herbs - your local supermarket should have them for about £1 each but now is the time to check out school and village fetes for plant stalls.
Cover the plastic pots with circular pieces of a fabric of your choice, secure with ribbon and group in the centre of each table. Beautiful, stylish and simple arrangements that will cost little more than £10 per table and look like a million dollars - perfect!
I can't resist passing on new suppliers I find in the hope that they help take some of the stress out of your wedding planning! Check out Why Creative's beautiful bespoke stationery. I'm a particular fan of the fact that the final payment (50% of the total) is only invoiced once you are totally happy with the finished product - that's another company keeping the bride & groom as their focus, and being confident in the quality of their products and we love that at magicdust!
If you'd like to talk to me about how we might be able to help you, check if we're free on your wedding date for 'On The Day' wedding co-ordination or you'd like me to help you kick start your wedding plans with a 'Girls Night In' please get in touch!
Until next week,
