A fantastic boutique, the perfect hideaway and lots of planning
Saturday, 19 July 2008
It's been a busy week of 'On The Day' wedding coordination preparations which has included visits to venues, numerous conversations with suppliers and updates for the couples we're working with over the summer months.
I often have brides warn me that when they've told some of their suppliers that they're using a wedding planner, there's been a sharp intake of breath! It seems that lots of venues, caterers, florists and photographers have had less than positive experiences of working with a wedding planner.
I'm delighted to say that we've never had anything but praise from the suppliers we've worked with at every wedding we've been involved in, even the ones who were sceptical before we met. I actually relish the opportunity to change their perception of wedding planners by being different and making the experience of working with Magic Dust enjoyable for everyone involved.
Not all wedding planners are bossy and officious - some of us really do have our client's interests at heart and know that a smile and a friendly approach will get things done quickly, properly and with a minimum of stress!
I discovered a wonderful boutique in the gorgeous village of Broadway, in the Cotswolds, a few weeks ago and I just have to share it with you. You won't find your wedding dress there but you will find at least one thing you'll just have to have for your honeymoon!
Equally, it's the sort of boutique where service still counts for something and an experience that any 'mother of the bride' or wedding guest of any age would enjoy. Pop in and see Sue and her daughter, who run Parkinson's if you're in the area or check out their online store. Just so you know, I came away with a dress that has since been complimented more than any other I've ever worn (except for a certain ivory silk one of course...)
And finally, you'll have heard me talk about celebrating your one month wedding anniversary in style on more than one occasion but now I'm going to tell you about the perfect place to head for to do just that!
Run by a wonderful couple who are based in London but have extensive knowledge of this part of Ireland, The Fuschsias is a stunning hideaway that has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment with the most fantastic attention to detail (and you know I'm a big fan of that!).
Perfect for a romantic long weekend full of coastal walks and pub lunches or even for a small group of friends to hang out in style for a few days, I suggest you book in now before I beat you to it!
Until next week,
