Beautiful wedding stationery, timings and an exciting phone call

Posted by Tammy on October 18th, 2008

For a stationery addict like me there’s nothing quite like seeing stunning wedding invitations!

This week I’ve been doing some work for a couple I first met earlier in the year when they booked a ‘Girls Night In’ planning session. I had mentioned to them at our first meeting that Emily & Jo make the most beautiful invitations and, sure enough, they have done just that for Kim & Emma.

I have spent some time this week hand-writing the envelopes in a deep purple ink to match the invitations. They look beautiful (if I do say so myself!) and I’m sure half the reason is because I absolutely loved doing it! If the thought of doing this amount of writing yourself fills you with horror, or you just can’t imagine finding the time to do it, and to enjoy doing it, do get in touch.

I can almost guarantee it’ll cost less than you think and I’ll happily send you a sample of my handwriting before you make a decision and can cross one more thing off your To Do list.

I received a wedding invitation through the post this week and couldn’t have been more delighted! A Christmas wedding always makes me smile, probably something to do with the fact that I married Mr Willson on 29th December. Anyway, this particular invitation was from a good friend of mine and she’d told me over coffee a couple of weeks ago that she’d designed the invitations herself.

Well, it is stunning, and such a simple idea, beautifully executed. A photo taken by the bride-to-be on a gorgeous tropical beach, with the couple’s initials and the date of the wedding written in the sand (these 2 are well known for their fantastic holidays!). Right from the word ‘go’ they’ve injected their personalities into their wedding celebration and I am already counting down the days until December 20th!

Our regular email newsletter was sent out earlier this week and I dedicated this particular issue to my ‘Top Timing Tips’. From ensuring the morning of the wedding runs smoothly to avoiding the wrath of an unhappy chef, there is at least 1 tip here that is sure to help you with your plans. Please click here to sign up to the newsletter and I’ll make sure this latest issue wings its way to you over the weekend.

Finally, I wanted to share a bit of exciting news with you! This week I received a phone call to say that magicdust has been shortlisted for a Bedfordshire Business Excellence Award. I’m very excited, not to mention a little nervous, so please keep your fingers crossed that on November 6th we’ll be bringing a ‘New Business of the Year’ trophy home from the awards ceremony!

Whatever happens, I’m delighted that we’ve been shortlisted and would like to send out a big thank you to all those couples who have worked with us, and are working with us – you’re the reason magicdust is on that shortlist.

If you’d like to talk to me about organising a ‘Girls Night In’ planning session, check if we’re free on your wedding date for ‘On The Day’ wedding co-ordination or just need an answer to a question that’s keeping you awake at night, please get in touch!

Until next week,

Tammy Willson wedding planner coordinator
