Manage your guests’ expectations with this simple, stylish plan

Posted by Tammy on February 21st, 2009

One of the many things we talk to couples about is the need to pre-empt any potentially stressful situations. Guests tend to be a little bit restless unless and until they know what to expect, and when, and this can have an effect on the atmosphere.

So, how can you ensure that the atmosphere is relaxed, happy and excited right from the word go?

Writing a simple welcome letter that outlines the day’s timings, and can be handed to guests on check-in (assuming they’re staying in the place where the wedding ceremony is) is one way of doing it.

But here’s another great idea from the queen of planning and preparation, Martha Stewart…

Simple to make, or to ask your stationery printers to make for you, these programs that can hang from ceremony chairs, or be placed on the seats, are a great way to include information about the whole day as well as the ceremony itself.

Guests will visibly relax once they’ve read them and it’s the perfect way to ‘speak’ to each one of them before you’ve even entered the room! And anything that helps you remain stress-free on your wedding day sounds good to us.

If you’d like to see if we’re free on your wedding date to be your ‘On The Day’ wedding co-ordinator so you too can relax and enjoy every second of your day and the run-up to it, or you would like to book a Girls Night In wedding planning session, or you simply have a wedding planning question that’s keeping you awake at night, please get in touch - we’re here to help!

Until next week,
