Eco-friendly wedding gifts

Friday, 5 February 2010

More and more people are looking to be as environmentally-friendly in their wedding planning as possible. We fully support this by running as green a company as possible and so we actively look for ways to help couples achieve their aims.

Thank you gifts can prove troublesome but, thanks to some fabulous companies that actively promote their organic products, you can shop safe in the knowledge that you are doing your bit in as many areas of your wedding planning as you can.
Try Daylesford Organic for sumptuous bath and body products and wine. Their Bamford Eucalyptus Bath Oil is delicious!

For a quirky but extremely useful gift that will remind the recipient of you every week, why not look at Abel & Cole's organic vegetable boxes...

Until next time, happy planning

Wedding tiaras and jewellery - Andrew Prince

Friday, 22 January 2010

Oh there is just nothing like a little bit of bling to lift an otherwise dark and dreary January day. And believe me when I say that the gorgeous tiaras and jewellery you will find in Andrew Prince's store near Bond Street, London, and on his fantastic website, is so much more than a little bit of bling!

Simply the most stunning costume jewellery we have every come across, it's no wonder that Andrew Prince's work is often mistaken for the real thing. The pieces on the website are just gorgeous, I'm still trying desperately hard to think of a reason why I might have the floating seven star tiara, and a visit to the store should definitely be seen as a treat (make sure you call first to check they're open).

I've just remembered a friend of mine who confessed to wearing her wedding tiara every week when she hoovered the house - now if that's not a reason to place an order for that floating seven star tiara I don't know what is...

Until next time, happy planning

Tips to ensure happy, helpful bridesmaids - Tip 5 of 6

Tuesday, 13 October 2009

TIP 5

As for hair and make-up, it really is up to you. As long as you manage peoples expectations - so bridesmaids know not to expect to have their hair and make-up done by a professional - and you've chosen the right people to be your bridesmaids, this will be perfectly acceptable.

Have a think about whether you have a friend whose make-up always looks fantastic and ask her if she'd consider helping you out on the day.

Until tomorrow's tip,

Grazia style tips and a fabulous new beauty secret

Saturday, 8 November 2008

You can take the girl out of Grazia but you just can't take Grazia out of the girl, which is why I jumped at the invitation to join the team down at Westfield shopping centre earlier this week!

I'll let you make your own minds up about the biggest shopping mall in Europe because I was much more interested in catching up with the Grazia fashion team and picking up some insider tips for Christmas party dressing (navy and black is the chic-est combination, and if you've got good legs don't be afraid to get them out!)

My favourite tip, and one that I have already successfully tried out, came from Mel Ricky, Grazia's Fashion Features Director. She very kindly passed on Giorgio Armani's advice for carrying clutch bags... arm outstretched behind you so the bag doesn't ruin the line of your dress. So now you know!

I think the most important thing to remember though, whether you're looking at wedding dresses or searching for the perfect party frock, is to be led by what suits you and what you feel comfortable in, not just by what is deemed 'fashionable'.

The LBD (little black dress) is the perfect example of timeless style. Update it every season with a statement necklace or new fabulous shoes and you have a fashion-classic that will last you a lifetime. When you're hunting for your wedding dress, think along similar lines - don't dismiss the classic, simple shapes as these are sometimes the most flattering and give you a wonderful base from which to inject your personality through your jewellery, shoes, hair.

Whatever you do, have fun and make sure you love love love your wedding outfit - you'll be looking at the photos for years!

It's been a week of fashion and beauty and what's not to like about that? I'm going to share a secret with you... Ecorium, a fantastic new beauty emporium in Canterbury and on the internet, is all about pure skincare with a clear conscience. I'm going to keep you posted about Ecorium as they have lots of things in the pipeline for brides-to-be and I think you should be the first to know...

But, in the meantime, if your skincare routine needs an overhaul to ensure you're looking your best on your wedding day I can think of no better way to start than with the natural, ethical and ecologically friendly product ranges at Ecorium.

So, if you're in Canterbury pop in and say hi to Niki and tell her I said hi too, otherwise find Ecorium on the internet. When you place your first order you will automatically be entered into their prize draw to win a skincare goody bag worth £100 - now that's my idea of heaven!
